the sanctuaryThe Unitarian Church of Staten Island is located in New Brighton on the North Shore of Staten Island, near the historic Snug Harbor Cultural Center. It was designed in the Arts and Crafts style by the architect Frank Quimby, and was dedicated on March 31, 1895. The Sanctuary is especially beautiful, and well-suited to weddings, music recitals, small performance programs and presentations.
36' x 36' Sanctuary (above) is available for use regardless of your church affiliation. It is a place of quiet simplicity with unadorned plaster walls, exposed wooden beams and hardwood paneling and wainscot. The focal point is the rose window under the arched wooden roof of the bima. Clerestory dormers punctuate the sanctuary’s wooden roofing. The interior features a center aisle 30 ft long with nine cushioned pews on each side and accommodates 100 people.
